Thank you for your interest in “The Always Festival”. The Always festival is a film festival focusing on shorter format films. The Festival is designed to present films in a welcoming, relaxed environment. The festival is held within a gallery setting, bringing films to the attention of gallery patrons, and film on the same platform as well as acting as a meeting ground for up and coming film artists to come into contact with each other. The fee to participate in the festival will be waived for all films recieved before September 2007. We welcome all genres of the short film medium, and look forward to receiving your submission. Filmmakers interested in participating in the festival can submit films to the festival via mail/drop-off to the following address: The Always Festival c/o Hangar 1018 1018 S. Santa Fe Ave. Los Angeles, CA, 90021 Submissions should include the following materials: 1. A letter or email from the copyright holder, allowing us permission to show the film during the festival or by mailing in a printed copy of this agreement form 2. 2 copies of the film (in DVD format) with a screener that clearly states the title, running time, & contact information (name, number, email and mailing address) in separate jewel cases. 3. An electronic press kit (if available) via e’mail or disc. (this is very helpful for us to properly promote your film and art) - A 25 word synopsis of the film. - An image or still from the film. - Bio of the director, and a list of cast and crew. - Any press links or supporting material for the webpage in proper files. Submission Criteria: 1. Films must be 30 minutes or less. Films longer than 40 minutes will not be accepted to the festival, but will be kept on file for future events. 2. Films must be submitted in DVD format, and playable on a typical NTSC DVD player. 3. All films are screened prior to airing in front of audience members, and we will not show films that are excessively violent or sexually graphic. We will not air pornography of any kind, or non-contextually violent content at the festival, as it is not foreseeably fitting or beneficial to the festival. All copies and supporting materials become Hangar 1018’s property. All submissions (accepted or not) will be kept on file and stored by Hangar 1018; they will not be returned. Any inappropriate material will be destroyed. |
